Playing ball is the central theme at the J.W. Spain Athletic Complex. The outdoor sports facility features five baseball fields hosting numerous tournaments, baseball camps, and youth baseball and softball. The complex also has a football field.Â
For horse enthusiasts, there is the Farmersville Riding Arena, along with other equestrian trails in the area. The Northeast Texas Trail is also available for trail riders, and when fully completed, it will be the fourth longest in the U.S.
Chaparral Trail HeadÂ
In Farmersville, you’ll find a 5-mile portion of the famed 130-mile Chaparral Trail that runs through Northeast Texas from Farmersville to New Boston. Once a railroad bed, the trail is now used for hiking, biking, walking, jogging, and horseback riding with shopping and dining available at the trail’s head.Â
