As the old saying goes, in business it’s all about connections. The Farmersville Chamber of Commerce has taken that ethos and run with it, providing a conduit for local and out-of-town businesses both large and small to connect, learn and grow. It is all done in the interest of cultivating a thriving business community, something the Chamber has been doing for the last 55 years.Â
Chambers of Commerce are a common sight in towns large and small and some are more active than others. Color the Farmersville Chamber of Commerce in the former. Morning networking events at local businesses not only highlight the host but also give attendees both familiar and new a platform with which to present themselves and their businesses. Chamber events highlight local businesses in other ways, as well. The Farmersville Market, held on the first Saturday of every month, is an incredibly popular happening that brings in locals and visitors from other towns to historic downtown Farmersville and its variety of shops and restaurants. There are other larger events, including the Trick-It-Up Bike Ride held in October, the 5K Rudolph Run in December to complement the Chamber-sponsored Christmas Parade and other house events, such as Casino Night and the annual awards banquet.Â
Chamber Executive Director Christi Houston, a former entrepreneur, leads a board of directors dedicated to keeping Farmersville history alive while helping to pave the way for business prosperity in the future.
